Social Value
High on the Government’s agenda, social value is of ever-increasing importance with all major central Government procurements now needing to evaluate social value, and all sectors beginning to realise the importance of introducing it as part of their daily activities.
Every company generates social value, understanding it and being able to report on it is key to winning business. Collins McHugh will work with you to identify what your social value is, then using nationally recognised social value proxies we’ll apply social value calculations to evidence your activity. The results of which can be provided in a Social Value Report for you to share with your stakeholders and within tenders.

Understanding and Implementing
Social Value is not complex, we will support your organisation to understand what it is, the activities which generate social value, and the best ways of measuring and evidencing it.
Transparent in our approach, and providing a social value rationale report for any stakeholders who may ask how the figures are arrived at, we demystify the process and provide a third party independent report on your figures.

Baselining and Measuring
As with most companies, the first time you measure social value you will, in effect, be testing the waters.
This will provide your baseline year from which, as you get increased employee buy in and become more effective at evidencing outputs, your social value will grow to reflect more accurately the positive impacts you bring to the people who work for you, your supply chain and the communities in which you operate.
It is the start of a great journey which your employees and partners will really enjoy.

Engaging Stakeholders
Collins McHugh can, if required, help you to engage suppliers, employees and community partners along the way.
We run award-winning supplier programmes to both engage suppliers on the agenda and also give them the skills to measure and generate social value for you as their customer, but also for themselves to assist with their growth plans and aspirations.
Internal employee awareness sessions to get employees on board can be very helpful in increasing social value, as the sessions create a momentum and passion for the subject.
Finally, if you have key community and charity partners, we can carry out a Social Return on Investment (SROI) calculation on their activities which will help both their ability to attract donations and support, and will also increase your community activity as it will provide a multiplier for the support you provide them.
